Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

742 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Typical wave height was 4.3 ft (10th–90th percentile 2.3–9.2 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 5.9 seconds (10th–90th percentile 4–8 seconds). Typical wind was 12.8 mph (10th–90th percentile 4.7–25.3 mph). All 2,968 checked values passed quality control. Across 2 comparable years, mean wave height was the same as the same-month mean of 5.4 ft and mean wave period was above the same-month mean of 5.4 seconds.

About Cormorant AWS wave buoy

Cormorant AWS (WMO 63112) is an automatic weather station on a privately operated oil platform in the northern North Sea. It is not a free-floating wave buoy. The station provides offshore meteorological observations for operations and forecasting; the parameters available through the international feed depend on the platform's installed sensors.
