Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

667 wave-buoy observations covered all 28 days. Typical wave height was 10.5 ft (10th–90th percentile 5.9–15.1 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 7.5 seconds (10th–90th percentile 6–10 seconds). Typical wind was 18.3 mph (10th–90th percentile 9.2–28.9 mph). 25 of 2,668 checked values (0.9%) were excluded by quality control. Across 4 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 12.5 ft and mean wave period was the same as the same-month mean of 7.5 seconds.

About Cormorant AWS wave buoy

Cormorant AWS (WMO 63112) is an automatic weather station on a privately operated oil platform in the northern North Sea. It is not a free-floating wave buoy. The station provides offshore meteorological observations for operations and forecasting; the parameters available through the international feed depend on the platform's installed sensors.
