Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

742 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Typical wave height was 5.8 ft (10th–90th percentile 3.6–8.9 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 6.3 seconds (10th–90th percentile 5–8 seconds). Typical wind was 13.9 mph (10th–90th percentile 5.8–24.2 mph). 20 of 2,968 checked values (0.7%) were excluded by quality control. Across 4 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 6 ft and mean wave period was above the same-month mean of 5.9 seconds.

About Cormorant AWS wave buoy

Cormorant AWS (WMO 63112) is an automatic weather station on a privately operated oil platform in the northern North Sea. It is not a free-floating wave buoy. The station provides offshore meteorological observations for operations and forecasting; the parameters available through the international feed depend on the platform's installed sensors.
