Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

719 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Typical wave height was 5.6 ft (10th–90th percentile 3.6–11.2 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 6 seconds (10th–90th percentile 5–7 seconds). Typical wind was 17.2 mph (10th–90th percentile 5.8–30 mph). 13 of 2,876 checked values (0.5%) were excluded by quality control. Across 5 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 7.7 ft and mean wave period was below the same-month mean of 6.6 seconds.

About Cormorant AWS wave buoy

Cormorant AWS (WMO 63112) is an automatic weather station on a privately operated oil platform in the northern North Sea. It is not a free-floating wave buoy. The station provides offshore meteorological observations for operations and forecasting; the parameters available through the international feed depend on the platform's installed sensors.
