Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

707 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Typical wave height was 4.3 ft (10th–90th percentile 2.3–8.9 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 5.7 seconds (10th–90th percentile 4–7 seconds). Typical wind was 13.9 mph (10th–90th percentile 4.7–25.3 mph). 6 of 2,828 checked values (0.2%) were excluded by quality control. Across 6 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 5.4 ft and mean wave period was above the same-month mean of 5.6 seconds.

About Cormorant AWS wave buoy

Cormorant AWS (WMO 63112) is an automatic weather station on a privately operated oil platform in the northern North Sea. It is not a free-floating wave buoy. The station provides offshore meteorological observations for operations and forecasting; the parameters available through the international feed depend on the platform's installed sensors.
