Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

590 wave-buoy observations covered 26 of 30 days (87%). Typical wave height was 6.6 ft (10th–90th percentile 3.3–13.6 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 6.3 seconds (10th–90th percentile 5–8 seconds). Typical wind was 16.1 mph (10th–90th percentile 9.2–32.3 mph). 19 of 2,262 checked values (0.8%) were excluded by quality control. Across 9 comparable years, mean wave height was the same as the same-month mean of 7.7 ft and mean wave period was below the same-month mean of 6.5 seconds.

About Cormorant AWS wave buoy

Cormorant AWS (WMO 63112) is an automatic weather station on a privately operated oil platform in the northern North Sea. It is not a free-floating wave buoy. The station provides offshore meteorological observations for operations and forecasting; the parameters available through the international feed depend on the platform's installed sensors.
