Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

700 wave-buoy observations covered 30 of 31 days (97%). Typical wave height was 9.2 ft (10th–90th percentile 4.9–18 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 7 seconds (10th–90th percentile 6–8 seconds). Typical wind was 18.3 mph (10th–90th percentile 6.9–35.8 mph). All 2,675 checked values passed quality control. Across 9 comparable years, mean wave height was the same as the same-month mean of 10.2 ft and mean wave period was below the same-month mean of 7.1 seconds.

About Cormorant AWS wave buoy

Cormorant AWS (WMO 63112) is an automatic weather station on a privately operated oil platform in the northern North Sea. It is not a free-floating wave buoy. The station provides offshore meteorological observations for operations and forecasting; the parameters available through the international feed depend on the platform's installed sensors.
