Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

715 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Historical wave-period comparison is unavailable because matching period types have not been established. Typical wave height was 5.9 ft (10th–90th percentile 3–10.8 ft), while the reported wave period averaged 6.6 seconds (10th–90th percentile 5–8 seconds). Typical wind was 10.3 mph (10th–90th percentile 4.7–25.3 mph) and mean water temperature was 15.9°C (10th–90th percentile 14.4–17.6°C). 1 of 3,575 checked values (0%) were excluded by quality control. Across 5 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 6.6 ft.

About Brittany wave buoy

Brittany buoy (WMO 62163) is maintained jointly by the UK Met Office and Météo-France in the Bay of Biscay. Its exposed ocean position west of Brittany provides an upstream view of Atlantic systems approaching western France and the western entrance to the English Channel.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread, wind conditions and sea temperature.
