About Tenerife Sur wave buoy
Tenerife Sur is a Puertos del Estado REDEXT deep-water buoy moored in about 710 metres of water south of Tenerife. It provides an exposed Atlantic reference for swell approaching the island's southern and western coasts and complements the coastal station off Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Its current data source reports wave height, wave period and wave direction.
Provider-reported wave power.Approximate wave power calculated from significant wave height and energy period.Approximate mean including provider-reported and calculated wave power.
