Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

738 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Typical wave height was 8.2 ft (10th–90th percentile 4.9–13.8 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 7.1 seconds (10th–90th percentile 6–9 seconds). Typical wind was 16.1 mph (10th–90th percentile 6.9–27.7 mph). 2 of 2,952 checked values (0.1%) were excluded by quality control. Across 2 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 10.3 ft and mean wave period was the same as the same-month mean of 7.1 seconds.

About Cormorant AWS wave buoy

Cormorant AWS (WMO 63112) is an automatic weather station on a privately operated oil platform in the northern North Sea. It is not a free-floating wave buoy. The station provides offshore meteorological observations for operations and forecasting; the parameters available through the international feed depend on the platform's installed sensors.
