Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

692 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Typical wave height was 7.5 ft (10th–90th percentile 4.3–11.8 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 6.7 seconds (10th–90th percentile 5–8 seconds). Typical wind was 15 mph (10th–90th percentile 4.8–25.3 mph). 5 of 2,768 checked values (0.2%) were excluded by quality control. Across 2 comparable years, mean wave height was the same as the same-month mean of 7.9 ft and mean wave period was above the same-month mean of 6.6 seconds.

About Cormorant AWS wave buoy

Cormorant AWS (WMO 63112) is an automatic weather station on a privately operated oil platform in the northern North Sea. It is not a free-floating wave buoy. The station provides offshore meteorological observations for operations and forecasting; the parameters available through the international feed depend on the platform's installed sensors.
