Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,368 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Typical wave height was 3.6 ft (10th–90th percentile 1.9–8.8 ft), while mean average of more than one wave period type was 4.8 seconds (10th–90th percentile 3.6–6.3 seconds). 4 of 4,038 checked values (0.1%) were excluded by quality control. Across 8 comparable years, mean wave height was above the same-month mean of 2.5 ft and mean wave period was above the same-month mean of 3.9 seconds.

About Fanø Bugt wave buoy

Fanø Bugt is a Danish Coastal Authority directional buoy in the eastern North Sea southwest of Esbjerg. Its setting between the open sea, the island of Fanø and the approaches to the Wadden Sea represents conditions relevant to the harbour entrance, tidal inlets and the low-lying southwest Danish coast.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period and wave direction.
