Period Summary
Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says
8,475 wave-buoy observations covered 177 of 365 days (48%). Typical wave height was 5.8 ft (10th–90th percentile 2.4–15.2 ft), while mean peak wave period was 11.2 seconds (10th–90th percentile 7.3–14.4 seconds). Typical calculated wave power was approximately 13.9 kW/m (10th–90th percentile 1.7–120.1 kW/m), derived from significant wave height and energy period. 42 of 25,425 checked values (0.2%) were excluded by quality control.

About Cap Ferret wave buoy
Cap Ferret is a long-running CANDHIS directional buoy off the Aquitaine coast, operated within France's national in-situ sea-state observatory. It provides an offshore reference for the energetic Bay of Biscay swell approaching the Arcachon inlet and the long, sandy and erosion-prone Landes coastline.
Its current data source reports wave height and wave period.
Provider-reported wave power.Approximate wave power calculated from significant wave height and energy period.Approximate mean including provider-reported and calculated wave power.
