Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,487 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Typical wave height was 5.6 ft (10th–90th percentile 2.7–9.3 ft), while mean peak wave period was 12.7 seconds (10th–90th percentile 9.5–15.9 seconds). Typical calculated wave power was approximately 12.2 kW/m (10th–90th percentile 2.5–38.7 kW/m), derived from significant wave height and energy period. 21 of 2,974 checked values (0.7%) were excluded by quality control. Across 10 comparable years, mean wave height was above the same-month mean of 5.2 ft and mean wave period was above the same-month mean of 12.6 seconds.

About Île d'Yeu Nord wave buoy

Île d'Yeu Nord is a CANDHIS station off the northern side of Île d'Yeu, maintained through France's Cerema-coordinated sea-state observatory and departmental partners. It represents Atlantic conditions around the island and provides context for the open, sandy Vendée coast to the east.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
