Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,483 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Typical wave height was 1.5 ft (10th–90th percentile 1–3 ft), while mean average of more than one wave period type was 7.1 seconds (10th–90th percentile 2.9–10.5 seconds). Typical calculated wave power was approximately 4.1 kW/m, derived from significant wave height and energy period. Mean water temperature was 19.7°C (10th–90th percentile 17.9–21.6°C). 28 of 4,447 checked values (0.6%) were excluded by quality control. Across 16 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 2.7 ft and mean wave period was below the same-month mean of 8.1 seconds.

About Île d'Yeu Nord wave buoy

Île d'Yeu Nord is a CANDHIS station off the northern side of Île d'Yeu, maintained through France's Cerema-coordinated sea-state observatory and departmental partners. It represents Atlantic conditions around the island and provides context for the open, sandy Vendée coast to the east.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
