Period Summary
Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says
1,450 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Wave period types differ within this period. Use the separate period rows in the observation table; a combined period summary and historical comparison are withheld. Typical wave height was 2.4 ft (10th–90th percentile 1.1–4.7 ft). Typical provider-reported wave power was 1.7 kW/m (10th–90th percentile 0.4–7.4 kW/m). Mean water temperature was 15.7°C (10th–90th percentile 14.4–16.8°C). 22 of 5,799 checked values (0.4%) were excluded by quality control. Across 13 comparable years, mean wave height was above the same-month mean of 2.4 ft.

About Scarborough wave buoy
Scarborough is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider off the North Yorkshire coast. Deployed in January 2013, it records North Sea conditions approaching the resort's two bays and the neighbouring cliffed coastline, supporting coastal monitoring along this erosion-prone frontage.
Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
Provider-reported wave power.Approximate wave power calculated from significant wave height and energy period.Approximate mean including provider-reported and calculated wave power.
