About Cabo de Gata wave buoy
Cabo de Gata is a Puertos del Estado REDEXT deep-water buoy moored in about 536 metres of water off Almería. Its position in the Alboran Sea provides an offshore reference for waves approaching the exposed southeastern Andalusian coast and the waters east of the Strait of Gibraltar.
Its current data source reports wave height, wave period and wave direction.
Provider-reported wave power.Approximate wave power calculated from significant wave height and energy period.Approximate mean including provider-reported and calculated wave power.
