Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,484 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Wave period types differ within this period. Use the separate period rows in the observation table; a combined period summary and historical comparison are withheld. Typical wave height was 1.3 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.6–3.3 ft). Mean water temperature was 9.5°C (10th–90th percentile 8.9–10.1°C). 26 of 5,777 checked values (0.5%) were excluded by quality control. Across 3 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 1.9 ft.

About Boscombe wave buoy

Boscombe is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider in about 10 metres of water off Bournemouth. First deployed in July 2003, it provides one of the network's longest nearshore records and a reference for the heavily managed beaches of Poole Bay on England's central south coast.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
