Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,440 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Wave period types differ within this period. Use the separate period rows in the observation table; a combined period summary and historical comparison are withheld. Typical wave height was 0.8 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.4–2.6 ft). Mean water temperature was 17.6°C (10th–90th percentile 16.1–18.3°C). 17 of 5,720 checked values (0.3%) were excluded by quality control. Across 4 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 1.5 ft.

About Boscombe wave buoy

Boscombe is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider in about 10 metres of water off Bournemouth. First deployed in July 2003, it provides one of the network's longest nearshore records and a reference for the heavily managed beaches of Poole Bay on England's central south coast.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
