Period Summary
Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says
1,487 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Wave period types differ within this period. Use the separate period rows in the observation table; a combined period summary and historical comparison are withheld. Typical wave height was 1.2 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.5–2.6 ft). Typical provider-reported wave power was 0.3 kW/m (10th–90th percentile 0.1–1.5 kW/m). Mean water temperature was 21.1°C (10th–90th percentile 20.6–21.7°C). 22 of 5,948 checked values (0.4%) were excluded by quality control. Across 23 comparable years, mean wave height was the same as the same-month mean of 1.4 ft.

About Boscombe wave buoy
Boscombe is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider in about 10 metres of water off Bournemouth. First deployed in July 2003, it provides one of the network's longest nearshore records and a reference for the heavily managed beaches of Poole Bay on England's central south coast.
Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
Provider-reported wave power.Approximate wave power calculated from significant wave height and energy period.Approximate mean including provider-reported and calculated wave power.
