About K1 wave buoy

K1 (WMO 62029) is a UK Met Office ocean buoy in the Atlantic approaches, southwest of Ireland. Its exposed position provides an early view of weather and sea conditions carried towards Ireland and western UK waters, well before they encounter the continental shelf or coast.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread, wind conditions and sea temperature.
