Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

715 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Typical wave height was 11.2 ft (10th–90th percentile 5.9–20 ft), while the reported wave period averaged 7.3 seconds (10th–90th percentile 6–9 seconds). Typical wind was 18.3 mph (10th–90th percentile 6.9–28.9 mph) and mean water temperature was 11.1°C (10th–90th percentile 11–12°C). 7 of 3,565 checked values (0.2%) were excluded by quality control.

About K5 wave buoy

K5 (WMO 64045) is a UK Met Office ocean buoy in the far North Atlantic west of Scotland. It provides direct observations from a sparsely monitored ocean area upstream of the Hebrides and northern UK waters, helping to verify forecasts as Atlantic weather systems move eastward.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread, wind conditions and sea temperature.
