About K7 wave buoy

K7 (WMO 64046) is a UK Met Office ocean buoy west of Shetland in the North Atlantic. Its exposed position monitors systems approaching the Northern Isles and provides rare in-situ context for forecasts across the deep waters between Scotland, Iceland and the Norwegian Sea.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread, wind conditions and sea temperature.
