Period Summary
Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says
457 wave-buoy observations covered 20 of 30 days (67%). Historical wave-period comparison is unavailable because matching period types have not been established. Typical wave height was 5.2 ft (10th–90th percentile 0–8.5 ft), while the reported wave period averaged 7.5 seconds (10th–90th percentile 6–9 seconds). Typical wind was 15 mph (10th–90th percentile 8.1–24.2 mph) and mean water temperature was 12.4°C (10th–90th percentile 12–12.9°C). 87 of 2,198 checked values (4%) were excluded by quality control. Across 3 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 8.5 ft.

About K7 wave buoy
K7 (WMO 64046) is a UK Met Office ocean buoy west of Shetland in the North Atlantic. Its exposed position monitors systems approaching the Northern Isles and provides rare in-situ context for forecasts across the deep waters between Scotland, Iceland and the Norwegian Sea.
Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread, wind conditions and sea temperature.
