Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,480 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Wave period types differ within this period. Use the separate period rows in the observation table; a combined period summary and historical comparison are withheld. Typical wave height was 3.4 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.8–5.8 ft). Mean water temperature was 8°C (10th–90th percentile 7.6–8.5°C). 33 of 5,817 checked values (0.6%) were excluded by quality control.

About Looe Bay wave buoy

Looe Bay is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider off southeast Cornwall. First deployed in June 2009, it records the wave climate entering the bay and the approaches to Looe, an area partly sheltered from Atlantic swell by the Cornish peninsula; a separate coastal station supplies local weather context.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
