About Start Bay wave buoy

Start Bay is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider off south Devon. First deployed in April 2007, it records waves entering the broad bay between Start Point and the Dartmouth approaches and supports the long-term assessment of an exposed, mobile and erosion-sensitive shoreline.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
