Period Summary
Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says
1,486 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Wave period types differ within this period. Use the separate period rows in the observation table; a combined period summary and historical comparison are withheld. Typical wave height was 1.7 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.7–4.2 ft). Typical provider-reported wave power was 0.8 kW/m (10th–90th percentile 0.1–4.9 kW/m). Mean water temperature was 19.3°C (10th–90th percentile 18.9–19.7°C). 22 of 5,944 checked values (0.4%) were excluded by quality control. Across 17 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 3 ft.

About Bideford Bay wave buoy
Bideford Bay is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider in about 11 metres of water off north Devon. Deployed in June 2009, it records Atlantic waves entering the broad bay between Hartland Point and Morte Point, with its shore receiver hosted by RNLI Appledore.
Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
Provider-reported wave power.Approximate wave power calculated from significant wave height and energy period.Approximate mean including provider-reported and calculated wave power.
