Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,487 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Typical wave height was 2.5 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.9–5.5 ft), while mean average of more than one wave period type was 4.5 seconds (10th–90th percentile 3–6.1 seconds). Mean water temperature was 16.2°C (10th–90th percentile 15.8–16.5°C). 3 of 5,927 checked values (0.1%) were excluded by quality control.

About Cleveleys wave buoy

Cleveleys is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider in about 10 metres of water off the Fylde coast. First deployed in June 2011, it records the eastern Irish Sea wave climate approaching Cleveleys and Blackpool and supports management of their heavily defended, low-lying frontage.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread, wave power and sea temperature.
