Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

48 wave-buoy observations were recorded during the day. Typical wave height was 0.5 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.3–0.7 ft), while mean peak wave period was 4.7 seconds (10th–90th percentile 2.6–6.7 seconds). Typical provider-reported wave power was 0.1 kW/m (10th–90th percentile 0–0.1 kW/m). Mean water temperature was 18.7°C (10th–90th percentile 18.5–19°C). 3 of 192 checked values (1.6%) were excluded by quality control.

About Cleveleys wave buoy

Cleveleys is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider in about 10 metres of water off the Fylde coast. First deployed in June 2011, it records the eastern Irish Sea wave climate approaching Cleveleys and Blackpool and supports management of their heavily defended, low-lying frontage.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
