Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

720 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Historical wave-period comparison is unavailable because matching period types have not been established. Typical wave height was 1.3 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.7–3 ft), while the reported wave period averaged 6.5 seconds (10th–90th percentile 5–8 seconds). Typical wind was 16.1 mph (10th–90th percentile 6.9–25.3 mph) and mean water temperature was 10°C (10th–90th percentile 9.2–11°C). 25 of 3,599 checked values (0.7%) were excluded by quality control. Across 2 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 2.3 ft.

About F3 wave buoy

F3 Light Vessel (WMO 62170) is a UK Met Office station in the southern North Sea, east of the Dover Strait. It provides an offshore reference for forecasts and shipping in the shallow waters between southeast England, Belgium and the Netherlands, beyond the immediate shelter or distortion of the coast.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wind conditions and sea temperature.
