Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,435 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Typical wave height was 3.3 ft (10th–90th percentile 1.1–5.4 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 4.4 seconds (10th–90th percentile 3.5–5.5 seconds). Mean water temperature was 16.2°C (10th–90th percentile 15.3–17.3°C). All 5,740 checked values passed quality control. Across 11 comparable years, mean wave height was above the same-month mean of 2.2 ft and mean wave period was below the same-month mean of 6 seconds.

About Looe Bay wave buoy

Looe Bay is a Datawell Directional WaveRider station off southeast Cornwall. First deployed in June 2009, it measures the wave climate entering the bay and the approaches to Looe. Observations include wave height, period and direction, sea temperature and calculated wave power; a nearby meteorological station provides separate weather measurements.

Metrics are rows; days run left to right.
