Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,417 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Historical wave-period comparison is unavailable because matching period types have not been established. Typical wave height was 2.1 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.9–3.8 ft), while mean peak wave period was 8.8 seconds (10th–90th percentile 5.7–11.1 seconds). 27 of 2,834 checked values (1%) were excluded by quality control. Across 5 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 2.5 ft.

About Port Isaac wave buoy

Port Isaac is a National Network step-gauge station off north Cornwall, first deployed in July 2010. Unlike the free-floating Directional WaveRider buoys used elsewhere in the network, it observes the local sea surface from a fixed installation and builds a record for this steep, exposed stretch of coastline.

Its current data source reports wave height and wave period.
