Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,432 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Wave period types differ within this period. Use the separate period rows in the observation table; a combined period summary and historical comparison are withheld. Typical wave height was 1.7 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.9–3.1 ft). 21 of 2,863 checked values (0.7%) were excluded by quality control. Across 10 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 2.2 ft.

About Port Isaac wave buoy

Port Isaac is a National Network step-gauge station off north Cornwall, first deployed in July 2010. Unlike the free-floating Directional WaveRider buoys used elsewhere in the network, it observes the local sea surface from a fixed installation and builds a record for this steep, exposed stretch of coastline.

Its current data source reports wave height and wave period.
