Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,488 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Wave period types differ within this period. Use the separate period rows in the observation table; a combined period summary and historical comparison are withheld. Typical wave height was 0.9 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.2–2.3 ft). Mean water temperature was 11.9°C (10th–90th percentile 10.2–14.4°C). 2 of 5,865 checked values (0%) were excluded by quality control. Across 2 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 1.4 ft.

About Weston Bay wave buoy

Weston Bay is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider in the upper Bristol Channel off Weston-super-Mare. Deployed in September 2009, it builds a record in a shallow, strongly tidal estuary where extensive intertidal flats and a limited seaward fetch influence the local sea state.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
