Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

1,488 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Typical wave height was 0.7 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.3–1.8 ft), while mean reported wave period; measurement type unavailable was 3.3 seconds (10th–90th percentile 2–4 seconds). Mean water temperature was 19.5°C (10th–90th percentile 17.8–20.8°C). All 5,952 checked values passed quality control. Across 12 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 1 ft and mean wave period was below the same-month mean of 4.4 seconds.

About Weymouth wave buoy

Weymouth is a Datawell Directional WaveRider station off the Dorset coast. First deployed in December 2006, it records the relatively sheltered wave climate around Weymouth Bay and the approaches east of Portland. Available observations include wave height, period and direction, sea temperature and calculated wave power.

Metrics are rows; days run left to right.
