Mount's Bay, Cornwall

Marazion is a broad sandy beach beside the town, looking across Mount's Bay to St Michael's Mount. It has easy access and facilities, but an unreliable surf window.

How the beach surfs

Rideable waves are uncommon here. Marazion generally relies on local wind swell or a south to south-west swell reaching Mount's Bay, with lighter north-easterly wind giving the cleanest chance. The beach can produce lefts and rights, but it is usually smaller and less organised than Cornwall's exposed surf beaches.

Access and orientation

Parking, shops and places to eat are close to the seafront. The beach is shared with windsurfers, kitesurfers, paddlers and other visitors, so check the activity around the water as well as the surf before entering.
