Perranporth is a broad, west-facing beach with direct town access. At low water it joins the sands towards Penhale and offers a lot of room, though not always a quiet line-up.

How the beach surfs

The exposed beach receives consistent Atlantic swell and develops multiple sandbar peaks. Those banks also create channels and rips, and both wave quality and difficulty can change over a short distance.

Access and orientation

The town has parking, food, hire and surf schools close to the main beach entrance. The lower-water walk north can be substantial, so check the tide and choose an exit landmark before paddling out.
