About Folkestone wave buoy

Folkestone is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider in about 13 metres of water off Kent. Deployed in July 2003, it provides a long record for the eastern English Channel near Folkestone and the Dover Strait, with a separate shore station supplying local weather context.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
