Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

671 wave-buoy observations covered all 28 days. Typical wave height was 14.4 ft (10th–90th percentile 9.5–21 ft), while the reported wave period averaged 8.1 seconds (10th–90th percentile 7–10 seconds). Typical wind was 24.2 mph (10th–90th percentile 15–32.2 mph) and mean water temperature was 11.6°C (10th–90th percentile 11.5–11.9°C). 4 of 3,355 checked values (0.1%) were excluded by quality control. Across 6 comparable years, mean wave height was above the same-month mean of 12.7 ft and mean wave period was above the same-month mean of 7.9 seconds.

About K1 wave buoy

K1 (WMO 62029) is a UK Met Office ocean buoy in the Atlantic approaches, southwest of Ireland. Its exposed position provides an early view of weather and sea conditions carried towards Ireland and western UK waters, well before they encounter the continental shelf or coast.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread, wind conditions and sea temperature.

Metrics are rows; days run left to right.
