About K2 wave buoy

K2 (WMO 62081) is a UK Met Office ocean buoy in the North Atlantic west of Ireland. It samples a remote, sparsely observed part of the Atlantic and gives forecasters an upstream view of developing systems before they cross the continental shelf towards Ireland and the UK.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread, wind conditions and sea temperature.
