Period Summary
Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says
1,489 wave-buoy observations covered all 31 days. Wave period types differ within this period. Use the separate period rows in the observation table; a combined period summary and historical comparison are withheld. Typical wave height was 1.6 ft (10th–90th percentile 0.9–4.4 ft). Typical provider-reported wave power was 0.8 kW/m (10th–90th percentile 0.3–5.6 kW/m). Mean water temperature was 18.2°C (10th–90th percentile 17.6–18.8°C). 26 of 5,955 checked values (0.4%) were excluded by quality control. Across 14 comparable years, mean wave height was below the same-month mean of 3 ft.

About Porthleven wave buoy
Porthleven is a National Network Datawell Directional WaveRider off Cornwall's exposed south coast. First deployed in October 2011, it characterises waves approaching the Porthleven frontage from the western English Channel, where Atlantic swell can wrap around Land's End and meet locally generated seas.
Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread and sea temperature.
Provider-reported wave power.Approximate wave power calculated from significant wave height and energy period.Approximate mean including provider-reported and calculated wave power.
