Period Summary

Programmatically generated summary. Hog Says

706 wave-buoy observations covered all 30 days. Typical wave height was 6.6 ft (10th–90th percentile 4.9–12.1 ft), while mean zero-crossing wave period was 6.1 seconds (10th–90th percentile 5–8 seconds). Typical wind was 16.1 mph (10th–90th percentile 6.9–25.3 mph) and mean water temperature was 12.8°C (10th–90th percentile 12.4–13.3°C). All 3,514 checked values passed quality control. Across 1 comparable year, mean wave height was above the same-month mean of 6.1 ft and mean wave period was above the same-month mean of 6 seconds.

About M3 wave buoy

M3 (WMO 62092) is part of the Irish Marine Data Buoy Observation Network, managed by the Marine Institute in collaboration with Met Éireann. Its exposed Atlantic position off southwest Ireland, west of Cork, provides an upstream reference for ocean systems approaching the south and west coasts.

Its current data source reports wave height, wave period, wave direction, directional spread, wind conditions and sea temperature.

Metrics are rows; days run left to right.
